The following steps detail how the HIVE can support the editing of your course/project.

Step 1: Pre-production Meeting

During the Pre-Production Meeting, effective media strategies for your course/project will be discussed. We will also establish a timeline to meet the required deadlines. The HIVE Manager and/or a HIVE Lead will assist and be your primary contacts. If this is for an online class, an Online Learning Experience Designer (OLED) will also be included in the multimedia development process.

All Pre-Production Meetings are currently held on Zoom. To schedule a Pre-Production Meeting please visit the HIVE Multimedia scheduling form

Step 2: Record your multimedia

This can be a voiceover, a screen capture, audio files and a PPT, Lightboard recording, etc. We want you to be able to use the system that works best for you and the resources you have at your disposal. If you need assistance determining the best process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us and/or your OLED for brainstorming/testing.

For how-to information on recording multimedia, please visit the HIVE Recording FAQs on the RESOURCES page as well as the HIVE TUTORIALS

STEP 3: UPLOADING FOOTAGE FOR EDITING

UPLOADING FOOTAGE for EDITING

1. Use the HIVE Media Upload Form. Follow instructions provided in the form. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please send a link to the footage as detailed below.

2. Email the HIVE Manager with a link to your footage, saved as an MP4 file. This could be a Zoom recording link with password if needed, OneDrive link or Google link. Include course name/number and exact titles for the finished video as well as any editing notes and/or other resources.

NOTE: Quality will be best if your equipment can record at 1080p, 60 frames per second. PowerPoints should be set with a 16:9 aspect ratio. If you have a Zoom recording, please download the MP4 from the Zoom cloud to improve quality. Please DO NOT include any cloud recording links.
