Engineering Learning Mentorship Fellows

Overview

Are you an experienced faculty member interested in advancing your mentorship in teaching and learning at Mines? The Engineering Learning Mentorship Fellowship (ELM Fellowship) is a prestigious, yearlong opportunity designed to support established faculty in contributing to Mines’ educational mission through peer mentorship. During their fellowship, ELM Fellows mentor a small cohort of EL Fellows by providing feedback, leading monthly mentor group meetings, and conducting teaching observations with the aim of supporting their mentees’ creation of a rich, learner-centered teaching portfolio. In addition to their role as mentors, ELM Fellows meet monthly to refine their own mentorship philosophies through structured explorations of values and insights, leadership approaches, and coaching strategies. Through this focus on high-impact peer support, the ELM Fellowship promises a rewarding avenue for faculty looking to continue their professional growth, demonstrate the impact of their service, and take on a leadership role within the Mines teaching community.

Eligibility

All full-time faculty at Mines are eligible to apply. We typically recommend this fellowship for mid-career or experienced faculty who have been teaching at Mines for at least three years. We recommend considering this opportunity alongside our Engineering Learning Fellows (ELF) Program to determine which opportunity feels right for you. Faculty who have successfully completed the ELF Program are especially encouraged to apply.

Compensation

ELM Fellows are awarded a stipend of $3000 over the course of their fellowship.
